Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Applied Statistics in the Department of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at California Baptist University, Riverside, California. The position will start as of August 2016. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics or related quantitative field by August 2016 and have prior teaching experience. Though all areas of statistics will be considered, special consideration will be given to those with a background in both data visualization and sports analytics.
The successful candidate joins an interdisciplinary team to strengthen and build the existing Applied Statistics major and an anticipated Sports Analytics major. The primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate statistics courses to both majors and non-majors. Other duties include recruiting and advising undergraduate Applied Statistics majors, engaging with undergraduate stats majors in original research or senior capstone projects, participation in departmental program assessment and curriculum development, and participation in other service to the University and department.
