Abstract
This paper addresses the relationship between scientific laws and the physical world. It argues for the fundamentally personal character of the universe and further argues that scientific depersonalization is a flight from God. What appear to be impersonal “laws” reflect God’s regularity of action. He explores in some detail the notion that scientific models are a form of metaphor. He illustrates this concept with an extended discussion of Newton’s laws of motion.
