Conference Information

  • The conference begins with an evening meal and program on Wednesday, May 27th. The conference concludes with a worship service in the late morning on Saturday, May 30th.
  • This year, the ACMS will offer a pre-conference workshop from Monday, May 25th to noon on Wednesday, May 27th. The workshop will have two emphases: 1) Preparing for promotion and tenure; 2)Re-energizing scholarly work.
  • Call for papers: proposals for talks should be sent toacms2015@cs.redeemer.ca. The deadline has been extended from February 16th to March 16th. For detailed information on the call for papers, click here.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students receive a 50% discount off the registration fee, housing expenses and meal costs.

Pre-conference Professional Development Workshop

Are you preparing for promotion and tenure? Are you a graduate student contemplating your professional future? Are you an experience faculty member seeking to reinvigorate your scholarly work? Would you like to think more deeply about the connections between your discipline and your faith? Are you looking for a few days of quiet to work on a scholarly project? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the ACMS Pre-Conference Workshop is for you.

Excursions

On Thursday afternoon, conference participants will have the option to take one of two excursions. Conference participants are requested to pay the appropriate fee at the same time as housing and meals, when contacting Redeemer Campus Services.

 

Excursion A – Niagara Falls (CAD $40 + tax)
12:00pm Bus arrives for pick up
12:30pm Departure for Niagara Falls
1:30-4:30pm Individuals on their own to take a tour of Niagara Falls
4:45pm Board bus back to Redeemer University College
6:00pm Arrive at Redeemer

Registration

Registration is now open. Please go to the Online Registration page to register for the conference.

Please note that, this year, the cost and sign-up for housing and food is separate from the conference registration fee and will occur directly with Redeemer University College.

On-Campus Accommodations

Air conditioned four bedroom townhouse style accommodations with two shared bathrooms, a common sitting area and a kitchenette. If you have mobility issues, please request to be placed in a ground level bedroom. Ground level bedrooms are limited and will be on a request basis only, until units are filled.

Each room has two single beds. Linens, one pillow, one blanket and daily towel service and complimentary hotel sized soap will be provided. Please note that blow driers, irons and toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner are not provided. Cooking is not permitted in the accommodations. WiFi is avialable for all guests.

Rates per night: Single CAD $50.00 + 13% HST tax
Double room with guest CAD $60.00 + 13% HST tax
Double shared CAD $30.00 + 13% HST tax

Because of the challenges with conversion rates, you will be directed to call Redeemer University College campus services to complete the reservations for your lodging, meals, and excursion. Instructions appear on the Check Out page of the online registration form.

A cancellation fee of $50.00 will be applied to all cancellations. To cancel your registration, please send request in writing to Darlene Komadan no later than May 16 to receive a refund. Any requests after May 16 will be on a consideration basis to quality for a partial refund.
